With more than 20 years of service to Athens families, I’m ready to bring my experience, compassion, and commitment to represent District 5 as Commissioner.
Athens has been home since I was 5 years old. I grew up in the Clarke County School District, raised my own children here, and have spent my life working alongside the people and organizations that make this community strong. I’m not just from Athens, I’m for Athens. Connected to our neighborhoods, rooted in our schools, and already serving the families and people of District 5.
Service has guided every step of my journey. From PTO President at Burney-Harris-Lyons to serving on the Parent Advisory Board, from leadership roles in the Junior League of Athens and the Junior League of Georgia State Public Affairs Committee to my current work on the Clarke Central High School Local School Governance Team, I’ve always believed in rolling up my sleeves and showing up for my community.
Putting my experience to work
I’m running for District 5 Commissioner because I believe strong communities don’t just happen; they are built through connection, compassion, and collaboration.
For more than 20 years, I’ve worked alongside families, schools, nonprofits, and local partners to strengthen Athens. I have seen firsthand the challenges our community faces.From families working hard to make ends meet, to small businesses striving to grow, to young people searching for opportunity and mentorship.
As your Commissioner, I will focus on building a community where families, youth, and local businesses can truly thrive. That means improving access to resources, supporting workforce development, creating safer and more connected neighborhoods, and ensuring that every decision made reflects the real needs of District 5.
This is not about politics. It’s ABOUT PEOPLE.
It’s about honoring our shared values, strengthening our connections, and creating a future where every young person can see opportunity right here at home.
